Film Festival Call for Submissions

“The Best of Atlantic Canada”

The 4th Annual Halifax Independent Filmmakers Festival, which is scheduled to take place from April 12-17, 2010 in Halifax, Nova Scotia is looking for new films directed by Atlantic Canadians to screen during its “Best of Atlantic Canada” showcase. 

Main Rules and Regulations:

-Deadline for submission EXTENDED: Entries must be received by March 12, 2010 5:00PM
-There is no submission fee

• -Preview submission format: DVD only
• -Maximum length: 20 minutes
• -Films must have been completed after than Jan 1, 2009 and cannot have previously been screened at HIFF
• -Required elements with submission:
• -1 DVD labeled with the title of the film and contact information
• -Synopsis (50 words or less) text file on CD or DVD
• -Director’s bio (50 words or less) text file on CD or DVD
• -Crew list text file on CD or DVD
• -Screening history of festival, broadcast, web or public screenings
• -2 digital still photographs cleared for promotional use by HIFF submitted on a CD or DVD
• -If Selected, screening date is scheduled to be Tuesday, April 13 at 7:00PM
• -Screening formats preferred if selected: Beta SP, 16mm, 35mm
• -Directors will receive one non-transferable pass to the festival
